Hi I'm Skyler

I'm a programmer, a student, an aspiring novelist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors. I like to go biking and hiking, or go on casual walks with my family or friends. I love to see the hand of God in His creations around us. I've gone through the Scouts Canada program, and loved it. Camping with the other scouts was always so much fun. I enjoy creative writing, like coming up with poems, songs, and stories. I really want to write a book, and I'm working on one now. I'm interested in computer sciences, and have taken five years of programming courses in high school and university. I'm now enrolled at BYU studying Information Technology. I recently spent two years of my life serving a volunteer mission in southern France, where I shared my beliefs with everyone that I met and loved it.

Why I am a Mormon

I became Mormon when I was young and thank the people that influenced me during that early period of my life. The reason, however, that I choose to be Mormon today is a bit different. I choose to be Mormon day by day because of the character-transforming power that the teachings of the Saviour bring into my life. I want to be a better person, and I know that through Jesus Christ I can do it. I am confident that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is where the Lord's teachings today are found. Living close to the Saviour makes me happy, and makes me better. I want those things, so I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do my best to follow the teachings of our Saviour. I study what He taught, try to apply those things in my life, and make them part of my character. During His life on the Earth, Jesus Christ invited us to 'be of good cheer'. What a wonderful commandment. I live my faith by following this commandment and being happy. The Lord makes this possible. Although He knows that our lives can be difficult, He also knows how to help us. He has promised us that if we trust Him and follow Him, He will take care of us.
