Hi I'm Jerry

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert to the church. It has been the greatest blessing in my life. My life is full and I am happy.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of 3 wonderful daughters. We have 11 marvelous grand children. I was born into a family that had few if any religious beliefs. I was exposed to the Mormon religion at an early age. My parents objected to my wanting to join the church. They finally gave permission. There was a period of inactivity during my college years, but I have been active since then. This activity and my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and my testimony of the truthfulness of the restoration has lead to success in all aspects of my life. I am so blessed and have so much to be thankful

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a strong testimony that God lives, that His son Jesus Christ lives and that through the Prophet Joseph Smith the gospel has been restored. I know that I am a child of God. He knows me personally and He loves me unconditionally. This knowledge did not come in some grand vision, but came slowly as I tried to do what the Lord wanted me to do. I know that we lived before this life and that we will live after death. I also know that we can live together as families in the after life. I have had many personal experiences that have given me greater understanding of the reasons why I am a Mormon. I have been blessed in all ways in my life. I am more successful in my business life than I ever imagined. I have had a successful military career. I have been so blessed in my family life. The joy and happiness that I have is almost impossible to believe. I attribute all of this to the Lord and know that these blessings have come because of my efforts to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have had my share of sorrow, but the light the gospel has put into my heart allows me to move on, find solutions to the problems or to be healed by the tender mercies of the Lord and His son Jesus Christ. I know that this journey through life has been made easier because of beliefs that I have outlined. My life is full of purpose and I have a clearer understanding of what life is all about.

How I live my faith

I have lived my faith by accepting assignments in the church. The church is a lay church with all aspects of church activity being handled by the members. I have had teaching assignments, leadership assignments, assignments to visit other members of the church. I have been involved with Boy Scouts and similar organizations for girls. Since I am a male, I have been given the Priesthood. The Priesthood is the power and authority to act for God. I can trace this authority back to the Savior. I can bless my family and others in all aspects of their lives through the Priesthood. I have accepted many callings in my life. I have enjoyed some more than others, but I have grown in all of them. I have felt the influence of the Lord in each of them. I currently have an assignment to work in one of our temples. Temples are very sacred places and it is a honor to work in this sacred place. I also have an assignment to work with young single adults. I have the opportunity to accept or reject each assignment. Experience has taught me that the Lord knows where He wants me and so I serve where the assignment puts me. I also live my faith by following the commandments given by the Lord to all His children. I follow His health laws, treat others with dignity and love, pray and study and live a chase life. In short, I live my faith by serving others. It has been a joy.
