Hi I'm McKenna

I'm a Mormon. A nick name given to those who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. I list these first because they are of greatest importance and fulfilment to me. I love art and studied it in college. I have a new found love in photography. I enjoy dance. While in high school I had the opportunity to be on Dance Company, and continued to take classes in college. I enjoy being in the outdoors and playing most sports. I don’t like to organize but I do like deep cleaning. I had the opportunity of completing most of my schooling at home. This is something I deeply appreciate and would choose again. I am busy with raising my family, serving in my church callings, and finding some time for my hobbies. I love discovering new things and enjoy learning from others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon so it first it was because that was all I knew. However, I have come to have a testimony of my own. There was not one big grand event that made this testimony, it was the many experiences that have built upon each other. I have had many friends that were ether inactive in church or not a member. I have seen the joy living the gospel has brought and the trails that have come from not living it. This doesn't mean that if living the gospel we will never experience hardship. There is a wonderful scripture in Mathew 7: 16-20, it states "16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." I have tested the fruits of the gospel and know them to be good. Why would I cast aside a “tree” that provides such a peace and understanding into my life. I wouldn’t! That is why I am a Mormon. I know that the teaching of Christ are true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has all the teaching and truths of Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to participate in many of the areas of our church. I was able to be a part of the program geared for the women of the church called Relief Society. I was a counsellor to the president. This meant that I was part of the a planning of the activities, the visits (we would go visit sisters that were new or in special need), and giving a lesson on certian Sundays. Other times my husdand and I were over teaching a particular age groups in the children’s program. The place I have spent most time in is the youth program working with the young women. I love this calling. I feel I have had made great friends both with the girls and with those that I serve with. I also have 3 sisters that I go and visit with once a month. I enjoy the opportunity this givse me to get to know them on a much more personal level. I am also greatful for the chance I have to teach my little girl.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

McKenna
I do believe that we have a prophet today who has the same power and authority as those prophest of old. I am so greatful for the complet faith I have in this man and in the knowedage that when he is gone another righteous man will be ready to accept this sacred call from the Lord. To know that we will never again have a time without a wonderful prophet who has the ability to comunicate directly to our Savior brings an indescribable feeling of peace. I hope that you will not just read these words but ask our Father in heaven if this is true. Show more Show less
