Hi I'm Wendy

I am happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

It is hard to define myself outside of my family. My children seem to rule my life - which is a good thing. In my life before being a mother, I loved to hike, travel, and explore with my husband. Someday we hope to do that again. Right now my three little ones are my focus. When I get a moment away from diapers, laundry, dishes, I like to read or look for great deals on the internet. That doesn't sound exciting but it totally is!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church. I grew up learning stories from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I always loved these stories and never doubted they were true. As I grew older, I knew that I needed to find out for myself. I prayed to gain my own testimony and as I pondered carefully I knew it was true. I have a hard time asking only once and so I asked many times to confirm my testimony. I guess I was waiting for an angel to appear and really confirm everything was true. I never had an angel appear but as I prayed again for the same testimony I clearly felt my answer - the thought that went through my head and burned in my heart was that I already had the answer. I already knew it was true. If I prayed for that 100 times, I would still know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. God is our Heavenly Father. The knowledge that I have gained from the Church and from the scriptures makes so much sense. Of course we have someone who created us and sent us here. Families are a key part to the plan. I am so thankful for families. As I look on my own family, I realize that we all have a Heavenly Father who loves us. Just like we teach our children, he is teaching us. When we listen and obey we are so much happier.

How I live my faith

My calling is to work with women in the church and help them with their needs - whatever they may be. I have learned so much as I have served with the sisters in the church. I have also learned that we need each other. All women have such unique lives and yet we can all help each other. I have gained such a testimony of service. When someone is sick, calling them or bringing a meal can make all the difference. I know that there are so many people who feel alone in this world. I love that the church brings people together. Because of the examples that I have seen, I have tried to serve more. Each day I pray to find someone to help. The Lord knows who needs us and he will guide us to them if we ask. I also try to live my faith in my home. When I am praying and staying close to my Heavenly Father, I have a peace in my home. When children make mistakes, I am quick to forgive and kind as I teach them proper actions. When I try to be more Christlike, we are all happier.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Wendy
Because of my faith in Jesus Christ, I try to live more like him. He was the perfect example of unconditional love and service. I don't know of two other things that will bring more happiness and strength to a marriage than love and service. I know that when my husband and I are focused on each other and not on ourselves, we are happier. When I am slow to anger and quick to forgive, I am happier. Show more Show less
