Hi I'm Shayley

I am a crazy red head that loves to laugh and be with my family. I am a Mormon Missionary serving in South Dakota.

About Me

My greatest joys in life are being with those I love. I love getting to know other people and finding joy in their own joy. I tend to be dancing around the house and singing to my hearts content ( even though I am not that great of a singer). I thankful for the opportunity that I have to serve for The Lord in South Dakota.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I went through a time in my life though that I was confused about the church but my older sister really helped me by still encouraging me to read my scriptures and saying my prayers. I didn't for about a year and a half. Honestly that was the hardest time in my life where I didn't have any desire to do anything in the church. I felt really alone and I didn't feel welcome any where even though I would be around friends and such, I didn't feel right like something in my life was missing. Finally I listened to my older sister and I started praying then slowly I started to read my scriptures and here I am today. If my sister wasn't there for me I don't think I would be as strong in the church as I am today. I know that God lives, that President Monson is the true living prophet on the earth today, I believe in missionary work and the power that it has on others, and I know that this is the true gospel on the earth today and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best to make people feel welcome around me. I know how it can feel to think you aren't being included, I think everyone has felt that way one way or another. But the truth is we are all Heavenly Fathers children and can help one another learn and grow. Reading the scriptures daily has been such a strength to my testimony that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon not only testifies of him but shows that Heavenly Father cares about all his children and wants all His children to come back to him. Thankfully we don't have to do it alone, Jesus Christ atoned for all our sins, weakness and short comings. No one is perfect but we can all become perfected in Christ. I am grateful for prayer that we can speak to our loving God and to know that we are never alone, that we always have Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to look to whether in our darkest hour or our brightest, we can always turn to him.
