Hi I'm Kayla

I am a Photographer, a student, a hard worker, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I currently have my Associates degree in Photographic Communications and I am in my senior year of my Bachelor of Fine arts with an emphasis in photography. I especially love portrait photography because I love people and I love the challenge of making each portrait a visual biography of that person. Outside of school and work I love to be with my friends, sit, talk, watch movies, and play card games. I recently spent three months in Cape Town, South Africa as a volunteer at a primary school. So far this opportunity has been one of the biggest highlights of my life. I loved meeting and working with so many beautiful people! I look forward to going back someday. In my Family I am the second of five kids. I have a mom and a dad that I am very grateful for and that I love very much. I'm pretty sure my grandparents are the greatest there is. I truly admire them in every way possible.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have raised me and my siblings as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but this is not why I am a Mormon. My whole life I have gone to church and church activities like my parents have asked and this has taught me what I know. My testimony grows stronger every day. When I was a Sophomore in High School my brother chose to be an Atheist. Over the last couple years he has presented his different views on life and it has really caused me to stop and think about what I have been taught verses what I believe. The more I have studied the gospel I have come to know that what I have been taught is true. I have had many instances where I have a question, so I try to find the answer, and then pray about whether or not it is true. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today. I know that prayers are answered. I know that Heavenly Father knows and loves me and with his help I can do anything.

How I live my faith

I am in a ward that consists of young adults between the ages of 18 and 30. Right now I am the "Relief Society President" aka the president over all the ladies in the ward. I love this calling because I get to work closely with the Bishop of the ward and I get to associate with a lot of different ladies in ways that I wouldn't get the chance to if I didn't have this calling. I have been able to learn about the history of latter-day Saint women and things I can do as a woman, to help the people around me. Before I was Relief Society President I was on an Activities Committee where I was in charge of planning all the activities for people in my area between 18 and 30 years old! I loved this calling too because we were able to plan regular activities that helped everyone become really close friends and learn about the gospel together. I try to live each day better than the day before. What I believe is such a huge and important part of my life that I can't imagine putting what I believe and how I live in different categories. I live the way I do because of what I believe.
