Hi I'm Abby,

I was raised on a farm. I'm a mother of five. I've been married for 31 years. I bake delicious bread. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college over 30 years ago. I raised our five children and now have many interests to keep me busy. I love to cook, sew, read, exercise, make mosaics and scrapbook the life histories of my family. My favorite pastime is spending time with my husband and family. We have lots of fun together. I like to keep busy and learn new things. Some have even called me "hyper", it's not true, I just love my "projects" and like to create. I love being around people and learning about their lives and their interests as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised on a farm in New Mexico. My mother joined the Mormon church after much thought and prayer when I was a little girl. She was a wonderful example to me and my family. My family attended church together and served in many ways. My testimony grew line upon line as I attended the different programs of the church and through the example of my parents. When I got to high school, I realized that I had a testimony of my own and knew that I wanted to have the Savior and His teachings in my life. I find tremendous peace in following the gospel principles and I know that Heavenly Father answers my prayers and loves me. He wants us to be happy and return to Him one day. I love to read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true and can bless the lives of everyone who reads it. I am grateful for latter day prophets who give us guidance as we raise our children in a world of turbulence. As I raised my family, I often prayed for help and understanding to know how to parent each of my children and I know I was a better mother because of this.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in my community and my church. I have always been active in the schools my children have attended. I have been a PTO President and have been on several boards to help make decisions on education. I have been involved in fundraising events for the schools and neighborhoods. I have participated in many Eagle Scout projects for boys who live near us. As I look back, whatever my kids were doing at school or as an extra curricular activity, I did my best to help where needed. For many years I worked with the young women of our church and have a special love for teenage girls. I think they are amazing and courageous! Currently, my husband and I work with a group of Single Adults. We enjoy their fun personalities, energy and enthusiasm for life! By participating in my church, community and neighborhood, my life has been richly blessed. I have accomplished things that I never knew I could do! I have met wonderful people along the way and now that my children have all left the nest, I look back with fond memories of our times together. I am looking forward now as I realize I have lots of energy and years to give service to others! I am ready for new challenges and ways to serve and pray each day that I might help out another who may be in need.
