Hi I'm Jani

I'm a former corporate sales training manager, I'm a Mom, I raise show dogs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Jani and right now I'm a stay at home mom but have previously worked as a professional horse trainer, a sales trainer, a recruiter and I also do some web and logo design in my spare time. My main hobby is raising and showing Boston Terriers. Puppies we have produced are being shown as far away as Czech Republic, Italy, Denmark, France, and soon South Africa. I am a mother of three wonderful kids ages 8, 12 and 15 and my husband works as a radio producer. My youngest daughter would like to be a vet when she grows up, my son is a video game fanatic and my oldest daughter has started speed skating and would like to one day own her own skating rink.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church so at the start, there wasn't really a question about what religion I would choose. When I got married and started having kids of my own, I came to a point where I re-evaluated what I believed and why. There were so many things I just assumed were true without ever questioning them because I'd been raised that way, so it was a faith building and testimony building experience to take a step back and actually make the decision as an adult to stay with the LDS church because I knew it was true, not because I was always raised to believe it was true. It has been the greatest foundation my parents could have given me growing up. When teens were struggling with who they were and what was right and wrong, and how far they would go to please their peers, I had been raised with a clear view that made those decisions much easier and made me much stronger.

How I live my faith

Through the church, I've had the opportunity to teach children and to serve the community. This summer we painted my daughter's elementary school and it's a great feeling every time we drive by to know that our members took several hours out of their weekend to come together and make a difference.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, Mormons believe husband and wife can be together forever by being married or "sealed" together for time and all eternity in an LDS temple. Likewise, their children are also sealed to them forever. We believe we were together as families in a pre-existence and that we can again be together after we pass on. Marriage is not considered "til death do us part" but everlasting and that our families can be together forever in the afterlife. Show more Show less
