Hi I'm Gordon

I am a father and grandfather with a wonderful wife. I grew up in Wyoming and have lived in Colorado for 48 years.

About Me

I'm a retired Optometrist who practiced my profession for 40 years. My wife and I have 6 children and 17 grandchildren. I love attending activities that involve my children and grandchildren. My hobbies have been my family and serving in various capacities in the church. I enjoy playing golf and watching football games.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised attending a protestant church which my family attended faithfully. I was introduced to the Mormon Church by my wife when we were dating. She gave me a Book of Mormon to read and I soon learned it didn't contradict anything I had learned from studying the Bible or attending the protestant church. It just gave me so much more information and understanding about God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. I discovered that mormons are christians; they believe in the same God, the same Saviour Jesus Christ that I believed in as a protestant. So I joined the church at age 19. Also the opportunities for service in the Mormon Church are incredible. I have served as a teacher of adults and youth, in leadership positions and as a missionary with my wife in the Czech Republic. These opportunities have developed me in ways that would not have been available to me outside the church. I love knowing families are very important and can be together forever as taught in the Mormon church. My life has been greatly blessed by my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I go to Church every Sunday. I have taken every opportunity to serve that has been offerd me and there has never been a time when I wasn't given something to do. I keep the commandments to the best of my ability. I read and study the Bible and the Book of Mormon and try to follow the teachings and instructions given in these two great books. I believe in prayer and it continues to be part of my daily life.
