Hi I'm Mark

I was raised in the garlic capital of the world in Gilroy, CA. I am a father, husband and Soldier in the US Army. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the church. I joined the church in 1986, during my second semester at West Point. I left the Academy to serve a mission in Barcelona, Spain. I returned to finish school at BYU in Utah, where I met my wife, Michelle. She is from Centerville, Utah, and we have three children, two girls and a boy. We have lived in Arizona, Hawaii, Germany, New Mexico, North Carolina, Kansas and Washington. I have also spent time in Korea, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. As a family, we love to travel, meet new people, explore new places, and enjoy the great outdoors. I love to spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

Friends in high school introduced me to the church. I grew up attending different protestant churches with my family and was happy to be a non-denominational Christian. After learning about the Prophet Joseph Smith and his role in restoring the Church of Jesus Christ in these Latter Days, I decided to pray to see if I should become a member of this faith. The spirit confirmed to me the importance of becoming baptized and a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to put my trust in the Lord and follow His will. Reading in the scriptures and praying helps me set things in their proper perspective. I appreciate the example, teachings and sacrifice He made for us and hope to help my family follow His teachings.
