Hi I'm Bang

I'm am a great grandma who likes to sew for my kids, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 73 years old. I have been married to my husband for 54 years. I have sponsored Laotian refugees 32 years ago. I am a retired Registered Nurse. My husband and I have 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I like to travel. We have been to all 50 states, Brazil, Panama, Europe and will go to Asia this February.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized as an infant in the Lutheren Church. When I was 8 years old, my family started attending the Baptist church and I was baptized by immersion. My father had met Mormon missionaries in 1925 and was given a Book of Mormon. For 25 years he read it and liked what he learned. In 1949, missionaries came to our home for a year and taught my family. My family was baptized on July 2, 1950. I married a non menber and did not attend church for 3 years. After 3 years I wanted my children to have the advantage of the church. My husband took lessons from the missionaries and was baptized 3 months later.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by service to others. I like to make meals for others. I am assigned to visit ladies in their homes and have made lasting friendships. because of my background as a registered nurse, I go to the local Senior Center once a month to cut toenails. I have served in the church. I have taught children in Sunday School and have gone to summer camp with the teenage girls. I enjoy singing and have sang in church choirs. Currently I am the church librarin. I know that this church is the church that Jesus established while on earth. We have living prophets today, who speak with God just as Prophets of old. I wish everyone could learn and know for themselves that Prophets keep us focused on what we need to do today.
