Hi I'm Tanner G

I'm married to the love of my life. I'm from California, I love sports, the outdoors and people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports and be active. I'm proud to be from the Bay Area and love how diverse it is. I enjoy getting to know other cultures and appreciating people for who they are and where they came from. I love the outdoors especially fishing, hiking, and camping. Nature is awesome.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives and loves me and each and every one of us personally. He has a plan for us and wants us to be happy not only in the life to come but in this life as well. He's provided us with the scriptures, sent prophets to teach us and sent His son Jesus Christ to live and die for us. Christ showed us "the way" to live our lives. If we do our best to be like Him, we will be happy. If we follow the teachings he gave, we will be happy. I'm a Mormon because His teachings show me how to be happy. As I've had different experiences in life and learned a lot of things, I've come to realize that the only true, lasting happiness we can have is by following "the way" Christ left for us. I've learned that there are some things that make me feel happy but that happiness soon fades away. There's only one way to always be happy or have joy and that is following Christ. That doesn't mean that life isn't hard for me at times, but it means that I have a reason to keep going with times may get tough. I'm not perfect and I know I won't achieve perfection in this life, but we are expected to try our best to be perfect and do the things that Christ asks us to do. We're happy when we know we're doing our best. Through Christ's sacrifice for me and all of mankind, our mistakes can be washed away and we can start fresh. I'm a Mormon because it gives me hope and optimism that I can change and be a better person. Lots of times I've asked myself what the purpose of life is and why we're here on earth. Through living life, studying the scriptures, prayer I've been able to find answers to those questions. That's why I'm a Mormon because it helps me find answers to the questions I think we all have deep inside of us.

How I live my faith

I try my best to become more like Jesus Christ and develop attributes and qualities similar to His. This can be done in so many different ways. In my local congregation I have the assignment and privilege of serving and helping out the youth. I help teach the Sunday School class for the 14 and 15 year olds. It is a great way for me to strengthen my testimony. Every day I try my best to live my faith by being kind to others. I try to not get mad when a car cuts me off, I try to hold the door open for other people, and I try to smile at people that might seem like they're having a bad day. Even though I slip up every day I love the feeling that comes knowing that I've done my best to help others and become more like Jesus Christ.
