Hi I'm Gavin

I just graduated law school and had my first child. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very blessed to have grown up in a home with the gospel and opportunity to gain education as far as I had the ambition to pursue. Last year that education hopefully came to an end when I graduated from law school at the University of Idaho. I attended school in my home state with the idea that I would practice close to home. That dream changed, however, when the opportunity opened for me to have a position at a patent law firm here in Houston, TX. I love my family and love serving in the church and telling others about the blessings and direction that comes from relying on the Lord to direct your life.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel very blessed to have been born into a family with strong ties to the restored gospel. My parents and both sets of grandparents were sealed in the temple and taught me from the time I was born that there will be eternal consequences for the decisions we make on this earth. One of the consequences I noticed from a young age was that I was happier, and those around me were happier, when I lived the principles taught in the scriptures and by modern prophets. As I grew up, this truth only became more clear. As I study my scriptures each day and try to view the world with an eternal perspective, life is easy and enjoyable. I am happier with myself and I find that I love strangers as much as I love me. I know there are myriad ways to learn to love others, but none will be as lasting as the love we feel because we know that person is a child of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith right now as a part-time missionary. My wife and I are both serving under the mission leader in our area. He is in charge of directing our efforts to strengthen those who have weakened faith and supporting the full-time missionaries as they teach those that are new to the gospel.
