Hi I'm Spencer

I am a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in South Africa.

About Me

I'm the youngest in my family! I have two older sisters and a brother-in-law. My parents are the bomb. I've been Irish Dancing since September of 1999. I started, as a six-year-old, two days before my sisters. My age group started on a Tuesday and theirs started on a Thursday. I don't let them forget that I have the most experience because now the three of us teach an Irish Dance school with over 100 students. I've been a lifeguard since February, 2009. I am an Eagle scout. I was home-schooled through grade-school, middle-school, and high-school. As a "senior", I enrolled myself in precision machining and collision repair(auto-body) courses at a local technical high school. In the auto-body shop class, I fixed up and painted my awesome car. It's a 1990 Cavalier Z-24. Anyways, now I'm attending a local community college and dominating(not really) my Spanish, Calculus, Communications, and English classes. I hope to be called on a mission soon and I'm preparing for my mission while you are reading this message! 6 September 2013 - Now I am on my mission. I have been in South Africa for one whole year! I've served in Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, and now Grahamstown. Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ has been a blessing in my life. The gospel really helps people change their lives around and helps them find maximum peace and happiness. It brings people to know their relationship with God. He is our Father. We are His children. He wants us to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe in everything the church stands for! I have a testimony of the things that are taught in the church because I've tried them for myself and have experienced a peace of mind, body, and soul; and a stronger relationship with our Heavenly Father. I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ and I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church - as it's name implies. I am a Christian through and through. I also believe that God still speaks to His children on earth; just as He did in biblical times. We have Prophets and Apostles to guide us here on earth. They are inspired men and I support them.

How I live my faith

I just "graduated" from the youth programs in the Church. I don't know where I'd be without the guidance of good people or the influence of my friends and family in my life, but I'm sure that the place I'd be without them wouldn't be nearly as cool as the place I'm at now. Every Sunday, I dress up in my Sunday best and go to church for a while because it's good for me and I enjoy it. Doesn't sound like fun to you? Try it for yourself and you might change your mind. I'm always surrounded by awesome people who help me to be better and appreciate me for who I am.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Spencer
Pray to Him, read His words, and listen to the words of His servants. You can find His words in the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and though-out other text. In the LDS church, we have something we call "General Conference" every six months where we assemble around the world to hear the voices of modern prophets and apostles. Show more Show less
