Hi I'm Tyler Fricken Cornia =D

I'm a Mormon who loves to play basketball, be involved with student government, do improv, participate in deca, and be happy :D

About Me

I am one of the most positive people you will ever meet in your life. I try to be the life of the party as well as the leader who everyone looks to for help and guidance, and in a day and age where evil surrounds us sometimes it's hard to choose the right thing to do. I enjoy being in the outdoors and lucky for me i live in utah with beautiful God created mountains right outside my window! I go on lots of hikes with friends and family as well as going camping :). Another thing i enjoy probably the most out of anything is sports!!!!! I am constantly playing basketball or anything that has a ball!!! I am also in student government for my high school and absolutely love it!!! I also have fun doing improv :) i can be pretty random but that's just how my mind runs, ya know?? :) oh oh oh i la la la la love to sing disney songs in my car!!!! Even though I kinda have a terrible voice :) but what can ya do about that?? :) If whoever is reading this gets one thing out of this about me I want them to realize I am 1) Super Happy 2) Super Goofy 3) Super Happy 4) Humble 5) Ooober Fun 6) Super Crazy :D

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel is my main source for happiness, plain and simple. It's hard to explain the feeling you get when you follow the gospel. But the closest i can come to describing it is pure joy. I was having trouble a couple years ago not knowing where i wanted my life to go, but then i took my seminary teachers challenge to read my scriptures 10 minutes a night and then get on my knees and pray to God, our Heavenly Father, about my day. To basically treat him like my best friend in a respectful way. After 2 weeks of this I grew the closest to God and Christ then I have ever been. I challenge whoever reads this to do the same :) I promise it will work! I know that this church is true with all my heart!!!!!!!

How I live my faith

It's hard growing up in an LDS family sometimes, and even harder growing up as a Mormon in Utah. The expectations are high and you feel like you have to be even more perfect then anyone else. Along with this living in Utah I am surrounded by teens my age who claim to be mormon but don't act like it. It's much asier to say no to someone who isn't part of your faith and then explain why we don't believe in doing that. But I try to be the example to LDS kids and non-members alike. You play the same off the field as you do on the field. You never know who is watching you so I try to set a good example no matter what the circumstances. Yes of course I slip up sometimes but I always turn to these two scriptures when the going get's tough. 1st Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the tempation also make a way to escape that ye may be able to bear it. And also Ether 12:27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Tyler Fricken Cornia =D
I have many experiences with this topic because I am Senior Class President and I try to branch out and include lots of people. The way I heard this described one time was "Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin". People make bad choices sometimes and others choose to make bad choices, either way it is not right for us to judge them. We believe that same sex marriage is against what our Heavenly Father wants, when he created this earth and created us he did not intend for the same sex to be attracted to each other. Now just because someone chooses to go against this doesn't make them a bad person, but we as a church do not support this way of life. Everyone is given their Acheles heel (challenges) to work on in this life. This is just another challenge for people to overcome. Show more Show less
