Hi I'm Latosha Carter

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have belonged to a family of Mormons since I was sent to this world. My ancestors helped build temples and traveled across the country with Joseph Smith. Although born into the church I was far from raise in it. My mother was joining the Air Force in 2000 and was heading to Arlington Texas for basic training. Consequently I was going to be moving with my father on the other side of the country. So what the heck; I decided to take lessons from the missionaries. Shortly after the lessons I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 11 years old, on June 4, 2000. Not to long after being confirmed a member I went completely inactive. My father was an inactive member so I had no support in attending the church or futher learning the fullness of the gospel. I did however accompany my grandmother to The Garden of Prayer Baptist Church often. Growing up without a real sense of direction or purpose, I felt that sex, drugs and Rock'n'Roll was the American dream and I was going to chasing after it. I'm gratful that in 2011 my life changed forever. I found myself asking questions that I'm sure each and every human being asks at one point or another. Why and I here? What is my purpose in life? Is God real. Ask and you shall recieve. September 19, 2011 I became fully converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because what Mormons' believe is very simple. Nothing about what we are taught is complex, confusing or misleading. We believe that Heavenly Father has a simple plan for his children called, The Plan of Salvation. We believe that Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice though the Atonement so that we all may be forgiven for our sins. We believe that through the Holy Spirit Joseph Smith restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that we may have the fullness of the truth in these latter days. We also believe in Genealogy and family history. It is important to do work for the dead. The Bible says that we are supposed to do baptisms for our dead. There is a spiritual life after temporal death. It is up to the people still living on the earth today to do the work for those spirits. No other religion does this. Another major reason I am a Mormon is because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints promotes such values as strengthening families, service to others, and missionary work. I feel at home when I go to church. I feel that I am around family when I am around my church friends.

How I live my faith

I believe that we are supposed to give our time and service unto others. That is something Jesus did when he lived here on this earth. In giving service unto others we can become for like Jesus. Ultimately we become more like our Heavenly Father since we were created in his likeness. I try my best to volunteer my time to help people in need. I feel that it is so imortant to help people who are in need. I am so happy that I found Mormon.org because I have from that time forward stuck to the faith and values of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that the Church is the true Church and I know the Book of Mormon is true. I am Latosha and I am a Mormon.
