Hi I'm Janelle

I am a a daughter, a sister, a writer, a missionary, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission loving every minute of it! I am able to serve the Lord and his children in both English and Spanish. The best part about a mission? Coming closer to my Savior and inviting others to do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member and she married my father. My father is not a member, but my parents have had a happy succesfull marraige. They raised my older sisters and I in the church, my mother taking us every Sunday to the lovely brick building. It wasnt until I was in High School that I had the confirming experience that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. Feeling hopless, in need of love and understanding I turned and poured my heart out and felt the pure love of God. I know that the church is true and it has given me so much joy and happiness.

How I live my faith

While serving as a missionary I strive to be an example of love and charity. I remember my standards and that I am a daughter of God who loves me and knows who I am. Everyday I try to emulate Gods love and let others see how I live and I am happy in what I do. I try to serve those around me whenever I can and help when I can.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I live the gospel, following the ten commandments and what I have been taught by my parents and the Prophets. Most of the time living this way can be hard, people don't understand why I don't swear or drink coffee. Growing up already knowing these things made things easier, now I just smile and be a kind person to all I met and associate with. Joy and happiness are feeling I embrace and hope others who know me feel. When I am having a bad day or need a 'pick-me-up' I turn to the Lord in prayer, knowing that I can feel the love of Christ. Scripture reading is also very important. It helps members understand church history and doctrine. Scriptures also help us receive council from God. Living this way as a teenager, I go to high school and let others get to know me and through me know the gospel. I live my life peacefully, trying to be kind in all I do. I try not to gossip, speak ill of anyone, or be rude. I smile to just about everyone and try to include those around me in activities. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are ordained of God. We have the blessing of being in familial relationships in mortality and in the eternities. Families are forever, continuing on past death. This is one of the greatest blessings Heavenly Father has given to his children. By being sealed in the temple families exist in eternity so that after death we can be together again. My family means the world to me. I am constantly edified and uplifted by them. They always teach me and love me no matter what. Our Heavenly Father wants us to love our families and grow together continually. Show more Show less
