Hi I'm Joan

I'm a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. I'm a retired school teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have many interests: I love working in the yard and gardening. I love beautiful flowers and fresh garden vegetables. I enjoy being with my family and having them visit and also visiting them. I loved teaching school, 6th grade. I enjoy friends and going out to eat, going to concerts, symphonies, plays, good movies, and beautiful music. I love to travel. I enjoy people. I really like reading. I'm also a sports fan, and I stay informed of current events and politics.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in college I took a class that included studying about different religions, and their leaders came each time we finished studying their religion and personally presented facts about their church. I found that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had the answers to all the students' questions. It was amazing. I truly love this church. It has the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and fits right in with the Bible. If we feed out spirits each day with the scriptures, like we feed our body, we will be able to stay on the right path and live with our loved ones again after this life on earth. Our Father-in-Heaven truly does have a plan for us and it's most comforting to know this.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary and teach others about the gospel of Jesus Christ and His atonement for us and how He and our Father-in-Heaven love us so much. I also teach a sunday lesson to the female inmates at the county jail once a month. They love to hear that we have a purpose on this earth and that we can repent of our sins and be clean again. It is such a wonderful feeling when you can find those who really want to change their lives and be happy. We keep in touch with each other in the church by visiting them to see if everything is ok. We help them if there is a need or get help. That is a wonderful way to keep in touch with our members. This is what Jesus Christ did when He was here on earth and wants us to do.
