Hi I'm Elizabeth!

I grew up in Texas. I work with special needs children everyday, and I love life!

About Me

I absolutely love music, sports, helping others, and pretending to know how to cook! I'm in school to become a recreational therapist, and I want to work with youth someday in a school district or rehab clinic. I love learning how to play new instruments, and I'm currently practicing ukulele. My family is pretty complex. My parents had 5 children, I'm the second eldest. After they divorced, my dad remarried and his new wife has 3 girls of her own. I also have sort of an "adopted" family and they have 5 children too! I love them all and it's true that it takes a village to raise a child.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for the knowledge that my Savior knows me personally and loves me. I am grateful for the happiness and peace the gospel brings into my life, and I love know that I can have the Holy Spirit with me all the time to guide me in my life. It's not always perfectly easy to follow all the commandments of this gospel, but I know that the Atonement works and is there to help us come closer to God. I love having prophets here on this earth to continue to guide me in my life as the road gets more straight and narrow. I know they are men of God, and were called of God to help us get through this mortal life. I love being able to pray everyday, as often as I want or need to. It is one of the greatest comforts in my life! I know I am a daughter of God, and I know each of us are children of God. I know He loves each of us, no matter what.

How I live my faith

I have had so many opportunities to serve in our church! My favorite was working with the girls' youth organization for girls ages 12-18. I loved getting to know them, and watching their testimonies grow and their light shine. I play the cello, and I love performing in church, and feeling the Spirit that comes from the songs. In daily life, I try to find the good in everyone, and do as much service as possible. Nothing makes me happier than helping others and making life a bit easier for them. At work with my special needs students, I love learning from their examples, and I try to be as loving and understanding as they are. I am preparing to serve a mission in the Washington, D.C. North, Temple Visitors Center, Spanish speaking mission, and studying the scriptures so much more in depth than I have before, and coming that much closer to my Savior is one of the greatest blessings I have received.
