Hi I'm Marina

I live in the U.S., I'm going to college, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Marina! I'm from the U.S., and I'm currently working my way through college. I'm considering becoming a Chemical Engineer. I'd love to use my degree to help others find clean, drinkable water. Besides school, I love singing, dancing, and running, when I have the time! After completing high school cross-country and track, I hope to now move on to half-marathons.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Christ gives me so much joy! I've been a Mormon my entire life, and I know my life would not be as happy and hopeful as it is right now without my religion. Over the years I've learned the value of faith, hope, and enduring to the end- living the gospel the best I can my whole life. The truths I've learned have given me an amazing sense of peace. I know that Christ suffered for all our sins, and because of that, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father someday. God's plan is for us to live and learn on this earth, to become more Christlike and return to live with Him. I know that as I pattern my life after Christ's, I will be happier and have a greater love for the rest of God's children here on earth. The gospel also brings me closer to my family, something I'll always be grateful for. I have felt Heavenly Father's love for me, and I know that is how He feels about each of us. I've felt an amazing, powerful feeling of love as I've expressed gratitude through prayer. As I pray for those around me, I feel a deeper, more Christlike love for them as well. I'm also grateful for the Book of Mormon! It is the most correct book on the earth, and is another testament, along with the Bible, of Jesus Christ. I have often found comfort and answers to my questions through reading the Book of Mormon. Another part of my church that is so special to me is the latter-day prophet. I know that Heavenly Father still gives us prophets today to guide and direct His church. The counsel I receive from the prophet truly is from God. As I follow the teachings I've learned from my faith, I am happier and feel that I have a purpose. I have faith in God's plan for me.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a president for my church's women's organization, serving a group of about 30 other women at school with me. I try to visit with these women and see if they need any help or comfort. Doing so has greatly increased my love for them! I've learned to reach out to those in need and lift them up- something I hope to do for anyone around me! I also organize service projects and other events for the women I serve. As we all work together towards a common goal, I can feel Christ's love for them and myself.
