Hi I'm Sunshine

I love sunsets, chocolate, and being a mom and a wife. I teach finance as an adjunct professor and my name really is Sunshine.

About Me

What do I love? Chocolate. Hiking. Cuddling our baby. Learning new bread recipes. Laughing out loud. Running from place to place balancing all the things we have going on in life. My name is Sunshine and I love that this is a gospel of happiness. I am a recent MBA graduate and have the opportunity to teach a university finance class right now. One of my favorite joys in life, though, is being a mom to a very active little girl and a wife to an amazing husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I know that He lived, that He loves us, that He atoned for our sins, and that He rose again so that we could overcome death and pain. My life is filled with the most happiness, peace, and joy when I am following Him and doing the things day by day that I know He wants me to do. I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth today. I know this because I have felt His spirit testify this to me. As simple as that. And as Paul could not deny it before King Agrippa, neither dare I. God continues to lead His Church through prophets and apostles - and most of all, He continues to love us and desires to bless us in all we do. He desires that we can return and live with Him again. I want my future family to grow up with the same values and standards that I did. To know they can receive happiness and direction in their own lives and that they can help make the world a better place by working with others of all faiths.

How I live my faith

I love to serve! In the past I have had opportunities to help out with a local women's shelter, volunteering with youth in the community, and now my husband and I have the opportunity to teach the young youth on Sundays. What an adventure it is trying to capture the attention of a 6 year old for a few hours. I love to help when I can - in student activities (like student council, planning events, or teaching someone a new skill). My favorite way to serve though- is probably to take cookies or goodies to friends, families, neighbors and new acquaintances. I am a HUGE fan of bread - so we will often make cinnamon rolls, etc. and take a bulk of the batch to others. When I bake, my husband always asks now, "Are these for us?" And he is surprised and happy if I actually say yes. (I have learned that I always need to save him some first).
