Hi I'm Mark

I am a Husband, dad and granddad, an educator, blogger and a chiropractic physician. Helping others is what I do and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Helping others find health and happiness is my passion. When I was born, I was blessed to have several health problems. These, together with the support of a loving mother and father, helped me to appreciate the value of health and to seek happiness amidst life's many challenges. I was born with a short, twisted leg and a clubbed foot. At the age of seven, I fractured the already weak foot causing additional weakness. Accomplishing the simple things that boys my age could do became challenging but, I never resisted a good challenge. I learned at a very young age that I must never give up! Never give in! As a chiropractic physician, clinical nutritionist and educator I strive to live by the principles of enduring life's challenges with dignity and hope. I try to instill these same principles in my family, students and patients. Life is a precious gift that a loving Eternal Father in Heaven has given to us. Even though it comes with several ups and downs, I believe that He wants us to find happiness; despite the hardships.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but that does not mean that I have not had to learn for myself that it was truly the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At the age of 16, I found myself struggling to understand who and what I was. High school was fun and I had a lot of friends but I felt that my "happiness" was superficial. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon from start to finish and to earnestly pray about it's veracity while reading it. At the end of the book there is found a scriptural verse commonly referred to as "Moroni's Promise". I believed in God and His son Jesus Christ but I wanted to know if and was the Church really His church. The answer to my prayer did not come immediately; so I thought. It did not take long for a 16 year old high school sophomore to realize that I was happier and more confident. I soon realized that I felt a certain peace that I had not felt before and consequently, I had a desire to better myself in appearance, actions and personal relationships. In time I discovered that the change of heart I felt was the answer to a 16 year old's prayer. The Church of Jesus Christ is His church.

How I live my faith

I really strive to be happy and to help others feel happy. Happiness is the means to peace and contentment. Now, what I want you to know is that you cannot be happy if you are seeking it for yourself. No, I believe with all my heart that happiness comes when you are serving others. Giving of your time in the service of others is serving the Lord, Jesus Christ. I enjoy working with the youth in our community. Currently, I serve as an Assistant District Commisioner of the Boys Scouts of America. In addition, I enjoy helping our community through participation in school event and activities. Whether it be as a team physician or a Booster club member, I enjoy sharing my talents and time.
