Hi I'm Kaylyn

I live in Northwest Washington. I have depression. I love theatre. I'm taking high school online. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in high school, and for a variety of reasons have started taking it online (which I am loving). I am in with love musical theatre, and am slowly pursing my dream of Broadway. Theatre is definitely the passion of my life, and I work extremely hard at reaching my dreams. I dream of being married for time and all eternity in the Vancouver, BC temple. I pretty much only have creative bones in my body. I love reading, writing, photography, painting slash sketching, singing, acting, quoting movies, making really long lists, and being silly.

Why I am a Mormon

I have dealt with depression all of my life. I have also been raised in the Church for all of my life. I have found it to be an immense strength to me. I can remember the first time I had to develop my own testimony and figure out for myself that the Church was true, and it was easily the hardest, longest, and absolutely most rewarding experience of my life. Because I also deal with anxiety and perfectionism it is sometimes hard to listen to the Holy Ghost through Satan telling me that I am not good enough. But with the atonement of Christ I am good enough. And I am loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ no matter how hard I feel I need to try to be perfect and how imperfect I prove to be. I am a Mormon because it is where I find peace and direction. It is easy to get lost in the clutter of our world, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to focus on what matters most. It gives me hope for a fulfilling life. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there, and listen to me, empathize with me, and give me direction. Living the life they want for me helps me to be happier. I feel their support when I go to them with questions on which road I should take. The Gospel gives me hope that one day I will be able to live in absolute happiness for all eternity.

How I live my faith

To live my faith in the Church I attend church meetings on Sundays and youth activities on Wednesdays. I love attending seminary in the mornings before I do my schoolwork. It helps me have the right mindset for the day, and if I prayerfully read my scriptures when I get home before starting my schoolwork my day goes a lot more smoothly, and happily, and I do better in my classes. Seminary has also been the biggest help to me in understanding the scriptures. It brings them to life more, allows for discussion, and makes them easier to understand and study. Truly studying the Gospel has helped me grow so much as a person.
