Hi I'm Travis

I'm a child of God, husband, father, friend and business owner. In order of importance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a beautiful small Rocky Mountain town. Here my wife and I, along with our children, enjoy all the outdoor recreation that is available in the Rockies. During the summer we love to play at the lake, go on hikes, camp, ride bikes and golf. We also love the winter where on any given day it is common to have three feet of snow out our back door! That's when we throw on the skis or hop on the snowmobiles. I'm a small business owner, board member and active community participant. These things keep me busy, but my all time favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family where I was subsequently raised with that belief system. Well . . . that's partly true. Yes, I was raised in a Mormon family and I am forever grateful for that upbringing. But, I am a Mormon because I know that Christ is my personal savior and that church He organized while He walked the earth has been restored with the Priesthood power necessary to bind in heaven what has been bound on earth. What a beautiful gift our Father in Heaven has given us. To know that when we make mistakes, all can be made right through His beloved Son. Understanding that I have a Father in Heaven changes how this mortal experience is viewed. It changes everything to know that the Supreme Creator knows you and cares for you individually. He wants whats best for me, I know that. He rejoices when I rejoice and weeps when I weep, just as a father should. I'm a Mormon because I know that through the covenants and ordinances found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I can, with my family, return to live with my Father which is in heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow one of the thirteen Articles of Faith belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The thirteenth Article of Faith reads, "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous and in doing good to all men; indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. " This Article of Faith does a marvelous job of summing up how I try to live my faith. I find that if I spend the majority of my time being benevolent, or charitable, then the rest of the Christlike attributes I am trying to develop seem to happen on their own. As Christ himself said, the two great commandments are to love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves. These two commandments if followed, are the key to beccoming like my Father and in essence, living my faith.
