Im a missionary in Oaxaca, Mexico. I grew up in Flagstaff Arizona I ride horses. I'm joining the army. I love people. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I came from a big family of nine. I love the outdoors and I love to play sports. I love working outside on my grandpas ranch and riding horses and rope around a little. I am a country music fan go George Strait! I wish to join the military after to serve my country. I love spending time with my family and Im serving a mission in Oaxaca Mexico where I hope to help other families come closer to Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church all my life. I've had my ups and downs, sometimes so down that I didn't want to be in the church and I've had ups so high that my testimony would explode in a way that I had to shout that the church is true! We all come across hardships and trials and through these trials we gain a learning experience of what the difference is between happiness and misery. I've noticed that only through the church and gospel of Jesus Christ with obedience to Gods commandments can we have that joy and happiness in our life and be free from guilt and sorrow. The reason why I'm a mormon is so I can have the truth of the gospel which brings happiness in all of our lives and I want to bring that feeling to everyone that doesn't have that truth. I know that through this church we can live with our families for ever and I'm willing to serve my Heavenly Father with all my heart to bring the truth to many souls here on earth so they can live with him again and be with there families again. thats why i'm a mormon!

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for my church here in Mexico, Oaxaca and im here to serve the lord for 2 years to bring the truth of Jesus Christ and his teachings to as many souls in these parts and I teach why and how we must come unto him in order to return with our Heavenly Father to be in a state of never ending happiness and to be with our families for ever and all eternity. This is a service that takes a big sacrifice to give up the worldly things and not able to see my family for 2 years, but I wouldn't trade the world for the spritual strength that I'm recieving here and seeing the families spiritual strength grow here. To me there is no sacrifice in serving a mission, Its a 2 year service of gaining nothing but much knowledge about my Savior Jesus Christ and how our happiness comes from his love for us and how through him all families can be together for ever in a state of happiness.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

To increase your faith is a life-long pirsuit, but we begin to recognize more of the promptings of the spirit repent of our sins and have the love of god with us more everyday in our lives as we surround ourselves with things that help us remember god and Jesus Christ always and try to avoid such activities that give you such vulgar impure thoughts. We do this by studying and pondering the scriptures everyday, pray to Heavenly Father every night and day and other times when needed, being obedient to all comandments, and just knowing that God is your Father in Heaven and that he loves you and is willing to help you with all things if you put all your trust in him. (Also such activities that you may not notice you are doing help you increase your faith such as attending church, paying your tithing, having family home evening, and giving fast offerings) If you feel like you need a boost with your faith ask for a blessing from a worthy priestood holder that you feel close to. (Thats what I did) Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

After the crucifiction of Jesus Christ many disbelievers of the church have persecuted the apostles and belivers of his church and then there was no person on the earth that had the authority to direct the church of Jesus Christ. Because there was no one left to direct his church, his teachings in the church fell and so then people relied on worldly philosophies in life or have changed or corrupted the bible in many different ways which is why there are plenty of religions and churches in the world today. In the bible it says there is one faith, one baptism, and one lord (Efiesions 4:5). So because of the confusion in the world of which church is true the lord restored his gospel through a prophet Joseph Smith. This marks the First Vision and through him Christ was able to reorganize his church again and missionaries are all over the world today teaching about his true gospel. Show more Show less

The priestood is the power of God wich is given to worthy men that are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Its the authority to act in God´s name. What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Death is a happy thing in this life its not the end at all. Our Father in Heaven sent us down here to obtain a physical body and establish a family. His plan is for us to return to him and live in his presence with our families again. First after death we are sent to 2 spirit worlds where we will live as spirits (1peter 3:18-19). The first world is called Paradise which is for the obedient people and the other is Spirit Prison which is for the disobedient. In the spirit world the people that live in paradise will go teach the doctrine of christ in spirit prison in order for them to recieve baptism and be able to repent. Then comes the day when we all are judged of how well we have kept the commandments and we will be resurrected in that day with our spirits and our bodies united (1Corinthians 15:20-23). We will be judged on which Kingdom to go to. There are 3 kingdoms in order from the most happy to sad the first is the Celestial Kingdom, is where we can live with our families and with God forever in a state or happiness; then there is Terrestrial Kingdom, and then Telestial Kingdom which both arnt as happy as the Celestial Kingdom. And in these kingdoms is where we will live forever. (1 corinthians 15:40-42 Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Jesus Christ established one church and in his church he called 12 apostles who have the authority to direct Jesus Christ´s church. Which means that in his church it is build upon apostles and prophets it says in (Ephesians 2:19-20). Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We keep the word or wisdom because it is a health guide in our lives spiritualy and physically. The lord reveiled to the prophet Joseph Smith that we must be restricted from Tobacco, Alcohol, Coffee, Tea, and other illegal drugs. Many of these things will harm us phisically in our bodies, but some of us ask why tea and coffe how does that harm us? Our bodies are addicted to these things there are some people that say to themselves"Oh I have to have coffee everday in the morning" or "I cant go on a day without a beer" These are signs of addictions and addictions cause us to put everything behind thats more important in life. Moreover the real reason why we keep the word of wisdom is because God has commanded it. He knows us more than we know ourselves he knows our very exact needs in order to be happy in this life. Thats what he wants from us is to be happy because he loves us and I know that keeping the word of wisdom will help me become a more happy and joyful and stronger person for me and my family. What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Both are very important. Church is a place where we worship God by partaking the sacrament which means that we recognize our covenant that we made with God when we were baptized to always remember him and keep his comandments. The church is also organized with classes of different ages and genders with leaders that teach us important things about the gospel of Jesus Christ and a time for us to make plans with other activities we want to have through out the year. A temple is a more sacred place to go and is so sacred that you have to be intervied by a bishop or branch president in order to enter in. A temple is where we make promises with God, just like how we make promises at our baptisms we make promises in the temple that are more sacred. A temple is a house of the lord, its his home and its important to remain worthy in order to enter into his home to make those promises with him. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The law of chasity is a commandment that means to be completly absent of sexual relations before marriage and after we are married we must only have sexual relations with our husband or wife. It also means to keep your thoughts clean and stay away from things that cause you to think lustful thoughts like pornography is definetly something that we must stay away from. Breaking this law is a very serious sin to our Heavenly father because it destroys family relationships and your soul. But keeping it brings great trust in your families and protection from the temptations of the world and brings happiness and peace. God wants his children to be happy and following this Commandment will bring a happy and eternal family. We live in a world that is involved in many conflicts in broken homes and many things that are just very hard for families, Children without fathers, divorces, girls getting pregnant in high school, diseases, rape and incest and things that shouldn´t be happening by cause of people choosing the wrong path and having sexual relations before marriage and if we can choose to keep ourselves clean and save that wonderful relation with someone who we really really love, the person that we are married too then there would be greater confidence in family relations and we can enjoy the strength to have self-control. Just think of how much of a better world it would be if everyone would keep this law that God has commanded us. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

pornography is a very evil thing to have in this world it really can destroy your soul and family relationships. Its been spread through out all over the world in magazines, television, and internet and its just as easy to get hooked and addicted to it with one click away. The church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints strongly encourages us to not view pornography in any form. As members we must set an example to be clean in a way that we can express our beliefs to everyone about pornography . Those who view or are responsible with the spreading of pornography must all hear the dangers of it and to do that we must lift up our voices and do our effort to proclaim that as members of the church we have been taught by our prophet that pornography must not be viewed for it can and will destroy us and our families and will bring us into the depths of temptation with satans power. Not everyone will hear us but it will make a huge difference if we all pitch in together and speak up for there will be many to hear. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The atonement is one of the most basic doctrine to learn in the church and one of the most difficult to understand. My way of understanding about the atonement is of two things, first: we all sin and in order to be forgiven and recieve mercy is through the atonemnt of Jesus Christ, this is because when adam had rebelled in the garden of eden by partaking of the friut he was cast out and this caused him and all his children to be punished when they would sin without any mercy, but because that Jesus Christ suffered for all our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane that caused us all from there on to recieve mercy so basically he balanced mercy and justice for us. Second: He also was lifted up on the cross and he died there suffering for us that we are able to be resurrected wich means that after we die we will recieve a perfect body with our spirit in us. To put it all together Jesus christ suffered that we can recieve mercy from our sins and recieve a perfect body after this life Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph smith was just a prophet like any other: moses, Abraham, and Noah were all prophets. We as members of the CHURCH of JESUS CHRIST worship only Jesus Christ, its his church and it would be breaking a commandment if we worshiped Joseph Smith as it says in the law of moses to not worship any other gods or Idols. Joseph smith was a great prophet who restored the church of Jesus Christ through Joseph smith but we dont worship him Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Heavenly Father has given us the great gift to have families. Families are important because they are esencial to gods plan to be united and live for eternity in this life and the life after in a state of happiness. Families are to help lift one another up in times of challenges and we share our joys and sorrows together and build eachother in unity to be happy. You may think that it takes a miracle to have a happy family relationship. Yes there are challenges, but heavenly father has provided a way for us through his gospel and message which we share helps families be tied together in happiness. The home is where we teach these messages to our children and families. You dont need money or a miracle to happen you just need a humble heart enough that you will commit to hear and follow the gospel that our wonderful savior has given us. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Mormons are very alike to everyone around the world we share the same customs and culture in our own country and we celebrate the same holidays as you do such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween and all others. There are some holidays that we celebrate in the church that were some important times that happened in church history, but its not anything strange or wierd its more of a time to have families together and do some activities. In church we wear our best clothing usually the men have white shirts and ties with suits sometimes and women wear modest dresses or skirts with shirts that cover the shoulders and is not to low. But we dont critisize or show disresect to anyone that cant afford or wear the clothing that is suitable for chruch we are all sons and daughters of god nobody is better than the other we respect all people. What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Baptism is a big step in life in making a covenant or promise that we make with our Heavenly Father that as we live we will obey and keep all the commandments that he has asked us to keep from the scriptures and listening to our prophet and repent of any mistakes or sins in this life. When we are baptized we take the name of Christ and enter into his church and we are promised with the blessing to enter in the kingdom of god after this life (john 3:5) Baptism is symbolic to being washed of all of our sins and our mistakes and free from all guilt and sorrowness. we must be baptized how Jesus was baptized with the whole body entering into the water wich signifies as washing all our sins away (Mateo 3:16) Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a powerful spiritual knowlege that we have from the Holy ghost that all the things that we have been taught in this church are true and that we know for ourselves that it is true. A person may share his or her testimony by exressing his or her beliefs about what he or she knows is true. A testimony is not personal we should always share our testimony and we do it by starting with the two words...I..Know. When a person shares their testimony a powerful feeling will come inside to all of those that are present and the holy ghost will fill the room and a new light will come to someones eye that all the things that are taught and said in this church are true. Never hesitate to share your testimony. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

The answer to this question is very difficult for people to understand because there is no real explanation or worldly answer of why women dont have the priestood except that only because the lord has put it that way and thats how he organizes his church. notice that all the prophets and the apostles that Jesus Christ called are men that have the priestood. This does not have any meaning to say that men are higher or better than women are. In fact our prophet president Hinckley said that men shouldn´t walk behind or in front of their wives but walk together on eachothers side because that is what makes a united marriage and family organized. Women do play a big part in the church and this organization was established in 1842 by Joseph smith called the Relief Society. This organization helps those in need and has its own offices and presidency. Show more Show less

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

There are so many things to say about mormonism, but there is one thing that makes us different from every other religion and the unique part about the mormon church is that its the RESTORED CHURCH (restored meaning to be brought back in its original place). God calls prophets many times to direct his church and a special prophet that came to the earth was Jesus Christ our savior and he came down to establish his church the way that it should really be, but as we know the people rejected Jesus Christ and his apostles so nobody had a prophet to follow in order to know the truth of all teachings so that caused to create much confusion in the world of the teachings of God which then created alot of disagreements between the people and then many organized different churches. The apostle Peter said that Jesus promised that there would be a restoration in all things before his second coming (Acts 3:19-21) Jesus Christ once again restored his church through a prophet named Joseph Smith in 1820. And still calls prophets today that recieve revelation from God to direct his church. We believe the bible and act on it and the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ and anyone can know its true if they read it and ask God if it is true. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

We know that a big rumor is spreaded out all over the world about that Mormons can have more than one wife, but that is a lie. To practice Polygamy is against God`s law and those who have more than one spouse are excommunicated and are commiting a violation against the country`s law. We are to be faithfull to only one wife and to nobody else (Jacob 2:27-30). However few times in the past God has commanded church leaders to Practice Polygomy including Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon. In the present time God commanded his servant Joseph Smith and other following leaders of the church to practice Polygomy and in the meantime as the church progressed it was commanded to come to a stop and that the leaders should return to their old ways to having only one wife and they followed at God`s command to do so.
