Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Arizona. I'm a mom of three kids.

About Me

I am a mom of three young kids, two boys and a princess. I was a teacher until I had my family, and now I get to stay home and take care of my kiddos. I am married to my very best friend, and in my opinion, the hottest man alive. My Sweetheart's job, however, takes him out of town and away from us for most of the year and has for almost 10 years now. He is my hero because it isn't easy, and he sacrifices so much for our family so we can make ends meet. I have essentially had to figure out, and still am trying to figure out, how to raise these strong, fast-growing, very spirited children on my own. I find that most nights I go to bed wondering if I even made any headway in teaching them! It is very challenging at times, and I'm not gonna lie, I wish my husband was home with a different job, but I know my Heavenly Father is aware of our situation and He has a plan for us, so we're gonna just keep on going until He tells us otherwise. My kids and I do stay busy with school, homework, after-school activities, and my responsibilities with the youth program in my church. My family is my life! On a side note though, I LOVE reading, camping, exercising, playing the piano, gardening, watching Judge Judy, and someday I want to see Niagara Falls and the pyramids in Egypt!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel of my Lord, Jesus Christ, makes me happy. It gives me direction with my kids and my marriage. I sometimes feel so lonely and overwhelmed because this life is not easy, but I have the knowledge that I can pray and ask for help and comfort, which I receive everytime. My religion has also given me the knowledge that I have a purpose, and I am not just aimlessly, pointlessly wandering, enduring things that sometimes feel impossible to endure. I am a Mormon because my kids are living in a world that is mean, hateful, and will destroy their little souls, but because we are taught a gospel of love and peace and service and repentance and forgiveness, my little ones have a chance in this world. They have a direction to go and are learning that they have a purpose also. They were born with the innate desire to love and do good and be good, and as their mom, it is my responsibility to add on to what my God already gave them. I can do that because I have direction.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. My kids and I have daily family scripture study and daily family prayers. I also help them say their daily personal prayers. Every Monday night we set aside for family time. We will have a short lesson or story on something we need to work on in our house, like telling the truth or doing what mom asks the first time (for crying out loud!), and then we play a game or go get some ice cream or go to the park or bake cookies. We just set aside that time to be together... even if the kids decide to use that time to be crabby at each other. Grrrrr! I am also the president of our young women's youth group, ages 12 - 18. I get to work with six other women who are pretty amazing and fantastic. We get to plan lessons and activities that encourage and give direction to this group of girls and to help them see who Heavenly Father intends them to be! These girls are so special! I love, love, LOVE getting to be with them!
