Hi I'm EmmaLee

I'm a mom to four blue-eyed kids. I 'm a cancer survivor and dance instructor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to dance, read, decorate cakes, do pilates, go to Broadway plays, sew and be crafty, go out to eat, be outside, and hang out with my family. I grew up in a large, loud family, and am the oldest of seven kids. I had a great childhood filled with forts, family trips, mom's amazing food, dad's haunted houses on Halloween, love, and knowledge of Heavenly Father and my Savior. I started dancing when I was 8, and haven't stopped. I have studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, modern and ballroom. I have taught dance for several years, and done choreography for plays and pageants, including the easter pageant, "Jesus the Christ". I grew up taking dance classes and performing, and developed a life long passion for this art form. I believe in the power of the arts, not only to entertain, but to convey emotion, uplift and edify. After high school, I earned a bachelor's degree in dance from BYU, and was on the Cougarette dance team. One of the highlights of college was performing throughout China on a six week tour. Another was meeting a baseball fan with a great voice who also made me laugh. We have now been married for 14 years and have two girls and two boys. We keep busy taking kids to violin and piano lessons, and dance and baseball practices. My highest priority is to have a close family that will be together forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the spirit testify that this church is true. My testimony and the powerful feelings of peace I have had throughout my life are more real and valuable to me than anything tangible. I was raised in the Gospel, and my parents were wonderful examples of service and living with faith in Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I know Christ's church has been restored to the earth, and it is a living church, meaning God still communicates with us through a prophet, just as He did in the bible. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that following its teachings leads to happiness. Because I was sealed to my husband in the temple, I can be with my family not just for time, but for eternity.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in my everyday actions. I want to live my life the way Jesus lived. I pray everyday, and feel like I have a strong personal relationship with my Father in heaven. I am so grateful that I can communicate with Him anytime, anywhere. As a family, we have Family Home Evening once a week. We spend time with eachother doing an activity and learning about Christ and His teachings. We don't schedule practices or other activities on this night, because we know quality time together is important in order to keep our family strong. We take time to read scriptures with our kids, and my husband and I attend the temple regularly. I am currently serving as the president of the children's organization at church. We have about 120 kids right now! We teach them as a group through lessons and music each Sunday. I am also helping with a service project where church and community members are coming together to make quilts for a shelter in our area. I am happiest when I am truly living what I believe.
