Hi I'm Cassandra Scherm

I grew up in Mesa. I served a mission in the mid-west. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and a Elementary teacher. I strive each day to make a difference in the lives of others. I never thought the impact I could make was more than I ever dreamed by living the teaching of Christ. I enjoy looking through the eyes of a child and getting more insight and knowledge on any given subject. I was born and raised in the church. I have been teaching for ten years total and married ten years to my eternal companion. Life is an on going process. Our children are our future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a latter day saint. I know when I was 9 yrs. old the question period started. My Dad was injured with his job. I felt that being the oldest of eight I needed some answers. I remember praying that he would be alright so he could support his family and watch us grow in this life. My prayers were answered as the always are. I learned to put my faith in our Savior and ask for help. Fast forward to college. I prayed for guidance about serving a mission. I wrote letters to missionaries in our ward seeking advice and answers. The missionaries offeres their sincerest testimony and love for me and the choice to serve. I served in the mid-west for a year and a half. There are good people every where you go. I enjoyed serving and teaching the gospel and would do it again. The gospel teaches us to love and find an eternal companion. I was past the age limit was the thought on both sides of my family to be married at age 18. I knew I wasn't ready. I needed time and preparation, so did my future spouce. We met and were sealed for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

Why I feel preparing to enter the Temple is important. As I mentioned about my Dad when I was 9. The scriptures teach us that our relationships in this life go beyond the grave. That means now that my Dad has passed on over 9 years ago, we as a eternal family will be together again one day. My parents were married and sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity. My Grandfather was very involved in family history. I have had the opportunity to learn about my ancestors and do service for them. Callings I have had: I have served or will continue as a young single adult represenative, pianist, chorister, choir participant, emergancy preparedness committee, choir director, teacher, coach, camp youth counselor, ward historian, president of different clubs, visiting teacher.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Cassandra Scherm
The purpose of life is more than day to day living. The common questions: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? God, your heavenly father , has prepared a beautiful plan for your eternal happiness. When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are here on this earth. God wants all of his children to progress and become more like him. This time on Earth provideds opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to: ■Receive a physical body. ■Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil. ■Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father. ■Form family relationships that may become eternal. By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. Show more Show less
