Hi I'm Taylor May

I'm a writer, a college student, a missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a love affair with reading that has spilled into writing and am pursuing a career at Brigham Young University in Provo. I am a very outgoing person who loves to laugh. I enjoy sports and the outdoors; camping, fishing, hiking. I am serving a full-time mission in Oklahoma City speaking Spanish and I believe in miracles.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Christ. The first full book of scripture I ever read was the New Testament. I was in ninth grade and I read it because we were studying it in Seminary. It was on those pages that my relationship with Christ became real. It was there I really started to understand His life and ministry. Since that time I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and through the power of the Holy Ghost I have felt the truthfulness of it's message. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ. I know that Christ died for me to save me from my sins. He knows my name and loves me unconditionally. I have experienced the healing power of the Atonement. I've seen this gospel change lives. I've seen the joy and light it brings to those who are ready to accept it. I know the importance of family and I can't wait to be married and sealed in the temple for all eternity to a worthy priesthood holder that I love. This gospel makes me happy and gives me a hope for the future. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith not only through upholding my standards but also through service. Service is something that I couldn't live without. It's always a win-win situation. Like I said before, I am involved with a community service club at my school. This provides me with opportunities to serve my school and community; from organizing large projects to saying hi to someone I don't know, service is something beneficial to everyone involved, always. I try to serve daily. I have a sticky note on my mirror to remind me that says "be selfless today :)". It's only fitting my favorite scripture is Matthew 10:39 "He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he who loseth his life for my sake shall find it." To me this scripture means we need to lose ourselves in selfless service to others. When we take our attention away from ourselves we realize how great the world is around us. It's not hard to see the hand of the Lord in everything we do. Service in it's simplest form is effortless. I smile at every person I see. This costs me nothing and fills me with a genuine happiness I just want to share. It's a service I don't even have to think about anymore. Serving others not only makes me happy but also brings me closer to my Savior. I pray for opportunities to serve. I feel the Savior's love for me and the people I serve. I live my faith by using the smile God gave me.
