Hi I'm Peter

I'm a family man. I ride bikes. I'm a dentist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved around the globe with a military family when I was young. My dad was an Army dentist and I followed his footsteps. I even married a school teacher like he did. Her name is Brooke. She married me back in '03. Our son was born in Boston during dental school. Our daughters were born in Germany and Washington. One more year of the military and then we'll dig our roots deep somewhere.

Why I am a Mormon

I have remarkable parents who made the Church a priority in their lives and it eventually became a priority in my life. If I had to identify a time in my life when I gained my own convictions about the Church, it would have to have been in the missionary training center as I was preparing for my two-year mission to Brazil. It was then that I realized I couldn't rely on the crutch of my parent's testimony to carry me through. I would have to stand on my own two feet and fly or fall. As I studied the gospel in such intense settings, continuously for two months, I prayed with purpose that I might know for myself the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Church. I feel like I received an answer then that has since kept me active in the Church through many periods of question and doubt. Now, as a father, I feel strength in my marriage and family life that I attribute to the teachings of the Church.

How I live my faith

I work with the 11-year-olds in our congregation. They are an active group of kids to say the least!

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

All of the responsibilities of the church are divided among the members. The way I see it, I always learn best when I am teaching a principle or lession, and so I don't mind having a calling. The way my wife sees it, I pay attention to the cleanliness of my home more when help clean it. I believe work in the church is an opportunity to grow. Show more Show less
