Hi I'm Brit

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 5 children. My husband and I were married right after he graduated with his bachelor's degree and I with my associate's degree. We then moved away from family while he attended dental school and an orthodontic residency. Before we started our own family I ran a daycare out of our home, which I continued until I was pregnant with our second child. That's when I decided it was time to put my full focus on our children! We are now living in a place we call home in between both of our families. My family is extremely important to me! I love being surrounded by my children each day. I take every opportunity I can get to be able to be with extended family as well. I love to sew, create and craft for my family and home. I also love helping others do it. I find great joy in being able to reproduce something at a fraction of the price you could purchase it for in a store!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life. My parents taught me to live the gospel through word and example and I knew following their teachings was the way to be happy, because I was. There wasn't a specific moment when I knew this church was true. But I do know that during my teen years my conviction of the gospel was constantly growing as I attended church and seminary and read and reread the Book of Mormon. I have prayed for myself to know if the Book of Mormon is true, and have received my own confirmation more than once, as a feeling of peace and warmth feels my whole body. I know for myself that to live any other way would stop my growth and happiness.

How I live my faith

I try everyday to be a better person. I can only do this by relying on my Savior and his atoning sacrifice for me. I pray for strength each day to change the things I need to, to be more christlike and charitable to those around me including my own husband and children. Daily scripture study helps me to learn how to be more christlike and become more familiar with Christ's teachings. I look forward to going to church every Sunday to partake of the sacrament and renew my covenants and to be spiritually uplifted, I need it in my life! I serve in my church by teaching primary children on Sunday. It is a wonderful part of my day spending 2 hours with them singing songs and learning about Jesus. I feel the spirit strongly as I listen to their angelic voices testify of our Savior! I ponder daily how I need to better myself so that I can be a good example for our children. I know there is much more I need to do to more fully live my life as Christ would have me do. But I know with Him all things are possible!
