Hi I'm Michael Litchfield

I grew up in the Washington State. I love basketball. I love my family and my friends. I'm livin it up in Richmond! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi! I'm Michael, and I love to be on the water! Wakeboarding, Wakesurfing, Kneeboarding, Tubing, anything on the water! I also love sports! Anything with a ball, I will play. My main sports that I like to play are Basketball, Tennis, Football, and Volleyball. My best friends and I played YMCA Basketball, as well as Church Basketball and Church Volleyball. I love to talk about sports, especially the NBA and NFL! I was one of few Mormons in my graduating class, and they were my closest friends. They mean the world to me. They were and are the examples in my life that everyone should have! I also love to play games with big groups of people and have parties. I come from a split family; two step brothers, two half brothers, and two half sisters. I graduated high school in 2011 and plan to go to college at one of the BYU schools after my missionary service in Washington DC South and in Richmond. I hope to get a degree from there, then apply to University of Washington for the dentistry program.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a mormon my whole life. I have been an active member and love the church. I am a mormon because I know this church is true, and no one can ever sway me from that. I believe in the prophet Joseph Smith, and have a testimony that he restored the gospel on the earth today. I have had many uncles serve missions, as well as aunts, and my Father, and they all said that there are people out in the world that are searching for this church. By praying, and reading the book of mormon, I have felt the comfort that this church brings. I believe in the power of prayer so much. If we humbly ask god for something, and have faith that he will answer, it will be made manifest unto us if it be his will. Knowing why were are here, and where were are going is huge! It brings comfort to my life knowing what lies ahead after I die, and knowing how to acheive the greatest gift that God as for us, being eternal life. The opportunity to be with your family forever, never having to worry about losing them, is important to me. The standards that the church has kept me safe, healthy, and happy. Who wouldn't want to live that way?!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best person I can be. Growing up, I went to all of the activities that the church had (which is a ton!). They are a great way to make friends with others who have good standards. I also went to seminary throughout high school. I loved seminary! It was a bummer that it started so early in the morning, but it was worth it. I am constantly doing service for others. It is a great way to help others, as well as follow Christ's example. I love to listen to the Prophet and hear what insight he has for us, and apply it to my life. Just like Moses and Noah, Thomas S. Monson (The living prophet today) teaches us what God wants us to know. The opportunity to have a living prophet on the earth today is truly a blessing! Also, studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I used the word "studying" instead of the word "reading" because it makes a huge difference. You "read" the cover of a magazine in a grocery store, and forget what it said 5 minutes later. If you "study" something, you tully search it, and try to get everything out of it that you can. The Book of Mormon teaches us to "Feast upon the words of Christ" (2 Nephi 32:3). I think of the scriptures as a Thanksgiving day meal. When you sit down and eat, you don't just eat a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you devour as much as you can!!! That's how the Scriptures should be. Just like our bodies need food, so do our spirits, and the scriptures are the same as that table covered in turkey, potatoes, and stuffing! They are on this earth for our benefit! They give us a guide on how to live and how to acheive eternal life. Why not use something like that?!
