Hi I'm Donna

I grew up in Seattle, Washington, United States. I work in food service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very interested in quilting, cross-stitching, crochet, reading, and gardening. A great deal of my time is also spent in doing family research on my ancestors. I'm currently working in food service.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since I was 12 years old. I grew up in a part member family and my mother saw that me and my siblings received the opportunity for baptism. Since my father wasn't a member, we only attended church once in awhile. So it wasn't until I was an adult that I came to realize that I needed the gospel in every facet of my life. When I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover for the first time at the age of 24, I was convinced of the truthfulness of it and have done my best to live the teachings of Christ. I know that the gospel is true, that we are led by a living prophet today, and that the only way to true happiness is to abide by the commandments and follow the prophets.

How I live my faith

I have been asked to send letters each month to five of my sisters in the gospel who are unable to attend church. My list has grown on its own as I add people I know (both friends and family) who are facing severe illnesses or are very elderly. I remember what the Savior said, "If ye have done it unto the least of these my bretheren, ye have done it unto me." I hope to bring a little sunshine into their lives. My husband and I both have a garden every year to help us to be self sufficient, and we share some of our produce with those who are struggling financially. We attend the temple regularl y to feel the sweet spirit of the Lord, and to serve our ancestors.
