Hi I'm Billie Jean

I'm a wife, mom, a grandma, a business owner and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My favorite thing to do is spent time with my family. I love being a mom & grandma! After years of working in corporate America as an HR professional I decided to quit and start my own business so I could spend more time with my family and give additional church service. My husband and I love to visit our 6 kids and 20 grandchildren. We have a family tradition to go babysitting the grandkids at least one weekend a year for each family so their parents can get a weekend alone. What great weekends we've had and we have really gotten to know the grandkids well. Some of my favorite things to do are read and teach. Over the last 5 years I have taught a class in our church about the Old and New Testament. Some of my favorite authors are Shannon Hale and Jason F. Wright.

Why I am a Mormon

If you have read very many of these profiles explaining we are Mormon's you will read that many of us were born a Mormon. Well yes I was born into the Mormon faith, but as a young women and mother I learned quickly that in order to be faithful in any religion I had to find out if this church was true for myself. I love reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible and found through prayer and scripture study that these books are the word of God. I wanted to raise my children correctly so that we could be together as a family forever.

How I live my faith

We have many opportunities to serve each other in our church because there is no paid clergy. As a result we have the chance to feel the Holy Spirit guide us as we teach each other about the Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible and Book of Mormon have helped me teach others. I have spent over 30 years working with the youth and young women of our church. Like the Savior, I feel a deep love for these children, young women and young adults. I guess I will really never grow up.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Billie Jean
Mormon's believe families can live together after we die. We have temples around the world available for families to be "sealed" together. In the Bible (Matthew 16:19) Jesus gave Peter the power to have things bound both on earth and in heaven. In our temples we bind (or seal) familes so these cherished relationships will be linked forever. As a young girl my father died and I have always been so grateful we had been to the temple as a family because I know we will see each other again and we will always be a family. This is a great comfort. My husband and I were married in the Mesa Temple and currently we volunteer there to help families learn how to be together forever. Show more Show less
