Hi I'm Elisa Taylor

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Mesa Arizona and met my husband at the community college. We have been married 12 years & have 5 kids.

About Me

I am a stay home mom. My kids range in age from 11 to 2. I love to cook and read. I like to read young adult fantasy books. I also like to listen to books on CD. I like to crochet and make jewelry. I love to spend time with my kids doing crafts and going to the library. My husband is a software engineer. I play the piano and the organ. I like to sing and listen to music. I have a deep respect for my country and its heritage. I also am proud of my pioneer ancestors. I like sports: baseball, football, volleyball. I love to watch sports, especially BYU football and the Olympics. Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays. My kids and I make festive food and decorate. I love spending time with my family. My husband and I like to go to dinner together. It is a great chance to talk and strengthen our friendship without interruptions. At church, I lead the choir and play the organ. I love to listen to the children sing in church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents showed me that it is the only way to be happy in this life. My parents aren't perfect and I was not a perfect child, but I could tell by their love for me and for Christ that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the earth. The gospel has the answers to all the problems that I see around me. When experience difficulties with my husband or children, all I have to do is look to my Savior and His teachings and the answer is there for me. I have never felt limited by the principles or doctrine. I have always felt confident in being able to make choices. I feel so blessed to know who I am, where I come from and where I am going in the next life. I know that I have a purpose in being here on earth and that God will help me. My family has been the guiding light for me and I thank them for making me a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to help at church. I lead the choir. We sing once a month in church. We sings Hymns and Primary songs. I also play the organ during church. Sometimes I help play the piano or lead the music for the children. I love to help teach the children's classes. Sometimes I am asked to teach the women's classes or to help with the activities. One of my favorite women's class is an exercise class taught by my friend. We bring our kids and teach each other; talking, laughing and getting healthy at no cost. I volunteer to help other sisters to watch their kids when they have an appointment.
