Hi I'm Allyson

I love my family, music, and watching movies. I speak three languages and am a registered democrat. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I knew from the time I was five that I wanted to study music in college, so that is what I did. I was a vocal major and then received my teaching certificate and taught elementary music for two years. I knew that I wanted to serve a mission, so when I turned 21 that is what I did. I served in Italy and loved every moment of it. After returning home from my mission and finishing my degree, I knew I wanted to marry the man I was dating, so that is what I did. I never knew life could be so sweet. After being married a little while, I knew I wanted to have kids, so that is what I did. I have two children; a boy and a girl. I had no idea how much joy would come from raising my children with the help of a loving husband. My days are spent reading books, playing games, singing songs, and working as an audio voice recorder while the kids are napping. My evenings are spent watching movies, reading TIME magazine, talking to my husband and organizing my house/calendar so that I can do it all again tomorrow. I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a latter-day saint, and am grateful for my parents who helped me make good decisions and gave me every opportunity to become the best person I could be. They taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraged me to find out for myself if it was true. When I read the scriptures, I feel good inside and receive answers to questions that I have on a variety of subjects. When I attend church, I feel the love of the other members in attendance and am given opportunities to serve. When I pray, I know I am speaking to my Heavenly Father and that He hears me. I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus is my Savior. I know His gospel has been restored to the earth. I know that I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I have been given the opportunity to serve in a variety of ways in the church. I have worked with women of all ages, I have worked with teenagers, and currently I work with the children. I get to teach them what I learn in the scriptures and how they can be close to God and find answers to their questions. We sing songs, play games, and do other fun activities to learn about our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I also enjoy visiting with women my own age and seeing how I can make their lives easier. I enjoy helping to clean the church buildings. I enjoy singing with my ward choir. There are always opportunities to serve and grow as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
