Hi I'm Amy

I'm a Wife, a Mother, a daughter, a sister, a college graduate,and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern Utah University. From there I worked with adolescents in a lock-down treatment center before getting married and moving to Washington State. Then did some adolescent family counseling and was a teller for a local bank until I had my first baby. Now I have the best job, I am mother of three beautiful children (ages 6, 4, &2). I am so grateful to be their mother and love that they are my FULL-time job. Some people get to go home at the end of their shift at work, but us mother's are on-call 24/7. It may feel like a tiring, unappreciated job at times, but there is no job in the world as important as being a parent. I love that I can turn to the Lord for help and comfort. On the rare occassion I have spare time I enjoy playing the flute, rollerblading, doing my nails, playing basketball, volleyball or almost any other sport.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church to righteous wonderful parents and was content to go to church and lean on their faith until I was a teenager. At age 17 I received an answer to my prayers while watching the film "Lamb of God" at a Youth activity followed by a testimony meeting. I knew that Jesus Christ was our Savior, this was his church, and that was all I needed to know. Sure I have doubts sometimes, but through prayer and faith I have that testimony reaffirmed often.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the Young Women Presidency primarily over the 12 and 13-year-olds. We have a great time in class on Sunday learning all the things that will help them be tough and still sweet in the world we live in today. We also have activities one evening a week where we can have fun together, serve others, and continue to learn and grow together. I am also a visiting teacher where the women in the church go visit eachother and make sure each's need are met. I love it because I am able to become friends with women I might not have interacted much with otherwise.
