Hi I'm Mike

I am a father, an entrepreneur, a veterinarian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine. I am working as a veterinarian for the US Army. I have a lot of fun treating debilitated (and healthy) animals. I enjoy team roping (rodeos), woodworking, leatherworking and playing with my kids. I am very protective of my family time - home is where I love to be.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have seen the way Christ can change lives. I see it everyday in my mirror, and regularly as I see people studying the Book of Mormon. Learning of Christ through the Book of Mormon has helped me to know that God loves all of his children and answers our prayers. One of the ways He shows His love is by guiding us through prophets today just as he did in ancient times. I'm a Mormon because I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, through feelings of comfort, peace, and understanding that God has not abandoned us. He hears and answers prayers. He is near and eager to accept our families back to live with Him forever if we accept His plan for our lives.

How I live my faith

I have the greatest job in the church. I get to help the missionaries teach people who are starting to learn about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a great inspiration to me to see people understand more about their relationship to Christ. My family and I get to help with many projects that serve our community. It has been an amazing blessing for my children to participate in "true religion." They look forward to making someone smile. My family and I are strengthened by the service opportunities we are given. My faith in Christ is also strengthened by so many in the church who give freely of their time to serve us. I have seen in their actions fulfillment of Christ's teaching that "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are places that God has set aside as a place of peace, learning, and understanding. He has given us the opportunity to feel a little closer to Him as we enter and worship in the temples. I am very excited that the Kansas City Missouri (USA) temple is nearing completion. My wife and I can visit the temple more frequently to perform ordinances that allow all of Heavenly Father's children to choose to follow Christ. The greatest blessings we have in life come from knowing that our family will be joined together throughout eternity because of the promises we make in the temple. I can think of no greater example of the God's loving mercy. Show more Show less
