Hi I'm The Good Sheppard

I grew up in the South and delight in still having a southern accent. I'm now a Mormon in Australia with a southern accent.

About Me

I grew up with lots of relatives and love all my grandchildren, especially when they are making a lot of noise when they all get together. Reminds me of those big family reunions we use to have at my grandmother house out in the country. Homemade food, late nights, singing, telling stories and playing hide and seek. I try and give my family a wonderful experience at getting together and being a part of a much larger family. My lovely eternal companion (wife) means so much more to me than just a companion. Now that we are Mormons we look at the time we spend together in a different perspective. We work at making our relationship last forever and not just to death do we part. I love the feeling of helping others. It makes me feel like I'm still able to contribute. I try to stay abreast of technology - boy is that hard. I'm glad I do not have to compete in today’s world. I've been there and done that. I’ve done it all - Hardware sales, General Manager, Controller, accounting, finance, contracting and everything including hand clearing land. Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn’t joined the Church? Sometimes funny and sometimes serious. I love getting up in the morning and watching the sun rise and hearing the birds wake up. Feeling the leaf on a plant or the bark on the trees. I love pets and the sound of the wind blowing. Life can be wonderful if we let it be.

Why I am a Mormon

I think I must have always believed in a God but found little satisfaction in other churches. The pastors just couldn't answer the main questions about where I came from and what life was all about. When the missionaries told me about what the Mormons believed I felt as if this Church had programs and explanations that made since. The people I met just seemed to have something and I wanted to be a part of that. It seemed to give me purpose and meaning to life. Hate to think of where I would be today if I hadn't joined. Boy - If it were only possible to tell people how much easier life would be if they would only follow Christ's plan. The world would be so much different.

How I live my faith

Living one's faith is about doing what you believe and not just believing it. Things like helping others when they need it, like mowing lawns for the elderly, helping people move, teaching others how to overcome struggles and confrontations by applying scriptural advice and doctrine. I try and live my life like Christ would want me to. Loving others and being charitable.
