Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Boston. I went to Harvard for college and for business school. Now I'm getting my PhD. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had the privilege of growing up outside of Boston, Massachusetts as one of five children in a terrific family. Growing up, I gained an appreciation for many things from my parents and siblings - education, music, sports, and art - which I've been able to explore as I've gotten older. I had the privilege of attending Harvard University for both college and business school and have just started a PhD program elsewhere. I've had the chance to sing in some of the country's best musical groups and have sung in venues across the U.S. and Europe. I'm currently single, but I hope to get married soon.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in an LDS family, I've come to believe for myself that the teachings of the church are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a variety of ways. First and foremost, I do my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I try to be kind and forgiving of others and do my best to obey God's commandments. I study the scriptures to better understand how God wants me to live my life. Second, I try to serve others. Whether it involves helping a new family in our congregation move into their first home, praying on behalf of friends who are struggling to have a baby, or inviting a friend who's having a hard time over for dinner, I try to help other people however I can. I believe that one of the reasons God put us here on earth is to learn how to love each other through service, and I also believe that we can be God's hands, lifting and helping those who need. Third, I serve in my local church congregation. There have been times when I've been asked to help in capacities that were beyond my capabilities, but I've done my best and also feel I've become a better person along the way.
