Hi I'm aubry.

i'm a california transplant, learning to be an adult in utah. i talk to strangers for a living and i'm a mormon.

About Me

i talk to strangers for a living and love it. i plan parties. i do my best under pressure. i have a house. i like it when everything is in its place. i enjoy colorful things and i'm pretty sure i have good taste. i'll never love to run, but i'll never quit trying. i blog. i speak before i think, but rarely regret it. if i have a spare second, i choose to get crafty and i paint my nails on sunday. i was raised by a dad who worked hard and played really hard a mom who believes in making a difference with her own two hands. they taught me to buck tradition and pack light.

Why I am a Mormon

life makes sense when i follow the principles of the gospel. it's a simple plan - be a good person, love your neighbor, and follow the commandments. doing so allows me to be in tune to the promptings of the holy ghost. the holy ghost provides guidance and comfort to me as i navigate my life in this big world, full of competing messages and noise. i have a testimony of the gospel of jesus christ and the organization of his church in the latter days. as a logical thinker, it makes sense to me. it fits. i believe in the prophet and leaders that guide my church. heavenly father speaks to our prophet to provide us direction. i'm grateful for the direction it brings to my life.

How I live my faith

i find joy in searching the scriptures, all of them - even the really hard books! - and teaching my friends about the principles and lessons scattered about the ancient stories. teaching from the scriptures strengthens my testimony of the love our heavenly father has for all of his children. he loves you the same way he loves me the same way he loved noah when the flood came and daniel in the lion's den. our heavenly father goes to bat for us - every time. i am buckled to my knees every time i'm reminded of that in my lesson material and scripture reading. i say my prayers every morning that i can be a good example to those around me. i pray that my actions will be recognizable as a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints. i pray to be prompted to act as an instrument in the lord's hands - to lift up, brighten, and support the people in my path.
