Hi I'm Ivie

I am a native Arizonan. I work with children. I love making pottery. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I’m Ivie! I’m your typical young, American, single adult trying to transition into the “real” world. I’m the youngest of 5 girls and am the proud aunt of 5 nieces. I’m almost done going to school to get my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. It is taking me 6 years to complete but I figure it’s better late, than never. I hope to be one amazing Preschool teacher! I love nature, reading, ceramics, taking pictures, listening to music, and playing sports and games. I believe that laughter every day keeps the doctor a way!

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion is not unlike many of the people who were born into the Church. I didn’t have some amazing miracle happen to me or a sudden conversion. After actually moving out of my parent’s house I had to decide and find out for myself if I truly believed that the Church was true. Through many trials and temptations I can state that I KNOW this Church is true and that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I cannot deny that this Church is Heavenly Father’s true Church on the Earth today. Every breath I take, everything I do, every person I meet, everything I see shows me that there is a God and that He is at the head of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The more I learn through the teachings of the Church the more I find myself unable to deny the truthfulness of it. The Church is my firm foundation in this chaotic world. Words don’t seem enough to fully describe to you how much joy, comfort, direction, and peace the Gospel brings into my life. I would be lost without it.

How I live my faith

I strive each day to live up to the standards that the Lord has set for me. Some days I am more successful than others. I’m not perfect, I have my faults and weaknesses just like anyone else but I know that no matter what, Christ will always love me. For some amazing reason Jesus Christ, my older brother, loved me so much that he died for ME and I can’t help but feel the power of that and the comfort it brings. My continual prayer is that I may be able to repay that sacrifice, even just a little, by living my life as He would have me live it and by sharing His gospel with others. A big thing for me is that I always try to see others (no matter their faith, age, status, race, etc.) as children of a loving God who have been sent to Earth to learn and grow just like me. I believe that life is not a race against each other but rather a time to learn through, with, and by loving each other. Life isn’t easy and we don’t have to do it alone. I lean on my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through the good and the bad. I find peace in the arms of my Savior.
