Hi I'm Melody

I'm a Christian, I'm a Hoosier, I am a quilter, I am a genealogist, and I am a Morman

About Me

I am single woman who also has a cat. I am a sixth generation quilter and I love traveling and doing genealogy trips.

Why I am a Mormon

I would share my conversion story but it would take to long since it was a 23 year process with at least 64 missionaries along the way. So I guess you can say that I like to take things really slow and I researched the church a lot and I do mean a lot of research. I will tell you that I was saved when I was 8 years old, accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and that my parents are church hoppers. You name a christian religion and some where along the line my parents were members for 6 months to a year of it. Currently as of this moment they are Baptist. So now your wondering how did a nice girl like me get mixed up with these wacky and yet fun filled Mormons. Well I was introduced to the church through my sister. She married a Mormon. It was through her and her family that I was introduced to the church. What really made me finally join the church was my nephew Robert. He asked me why I was taking so long in joining since I was a full tithe payer already, doing the genealogy work, doing a calling, and I was known among the ward as "The most non-mormon Mormon." I had more Mormon friends then I did any where else and I was already fallowing LDS teachings with out even knowing I was. So I thought about it and I prayed about it and I felt great peace settle about me when I finally made up my mind and took the plunge literately speaking by being baptized. 5 years later I have never looked back, regretted my choice, nor do I have any doubts that this gospel is true. It has been the greatest blessing in my life and has filled me with such a great peace and reassurance that I know I will never turn back but I will look forward with the knowledge of a living and loving God who will and has always been with me.

How I live my faith

I participate in our community by being one of four Family History Consultants. I've always loved genealogy so when I was blessed with this wonderful calling I about danced down the hallways of my ward. I also do Visiting Teaching and I also like to drive our mature women members around town since some of them are unable to drive. I know it's not really a calling but I like to help out our older members who unable to get around much anymore.
