Hi I'm Jessie

I am a sweet southern girl. I am a happy, loving wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family, the second of 6. I loved it. I was never lonely and always had someone to take care of. I hope to be just like my mother and have just as many kids- maybe :) I was married once before to a good man who didn't take care of his health and died young. My prayers for companionship were answered rather unexpectedly when I reunited with an old childhood friend and we married soon after. Right now I work 2 jobs to save money so my husband and I can buy our first house without a mortgage. I have a busy busy life as he finishes school and also works full time. I am so happy, my mother says I was born this way and I have been an upbeat person as long as I can remember. The Lord has blessed me with a strong spirit and a determination to have joy.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined The Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints separately before they met. My mother was a Southern Baptist and my father was raised Catholic. They knew when they married that they wanted 6 kids! I loved having a big family. I grew up learning the Gospel and found that when I lived the teachings to the fullest I was most happy. I feel a completeness that is unique to when I am doing everything I can to follow the Savior. I feel a burning of truth when I read the Book Of Mormon and I have gained a testimony of its purpose in these difficult times that we live. My relationship with my Heavenly Father has gotten me through great grief and sorrow and I find so much joy in prayer and study. I know I am where I need to be and I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ for His Atonement so that I may be with Him again some day.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to be a member missionary in my congregation. My husband and I have the opportunity to help the full time missionaries visit people in our community and be a part of their learning and growth. On Sundays I get to lead the music for our ladies group. I'm not very good at it but I enjoy it all the same. I feel a great deal of hope when we sing our hymns. My husband and I read the Scriptures and pray together daily. I feel my love for him grow each time we do this together, even when we have "discussions" (disagreements) we never go to bed angry because we end our days with prayer.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that as followers of Jesus Christ we look to Him as our example. We know there is no way we could return to live with God on our own. God provided a Savior to help us return. We follow Christ's example as best we can and after all we can do Jesus Christ's sacrifice allows us to return home again. Show more Show less
