Hi I'm Nick Bame

I have spent most of my life in Idaho. I love to play and referee most sports. I sell cars for a living. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play all sports, but primarily I play golf, basketball, and football. I've been a high school referee for two years and love it. I just got married this year and enjoy nothing more than spending time with my wife. I'm from a family of 5 kids, my parents are divorced and my dad has remarried, giving me 5 step-siblings as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I enjoyed school, things made sense to me. Especially when it came to Math. But nothing makes more sense and fits more perfectly together than the Gospel of Jesus Christ as is taught in the Book of Mormon and by modern prophets. The more I study and surround myself with the gospel, the more I understand about life in general and my purpose of life. When I'm doing what I'm taught and striving to follow the Savior and His prophets, I am much happier and choices are much easier for me to make.

How I live my faith

In my last ward, a young single adult ward (I just got married and haven't had a chance to go to my family ward yet) I taught a Gospel Principles class, which takes each individual principle and goes over it in depth to help new members or those seeking a deeper understanding of the church to learn and gain a good foundation of gospel principles. I was then called to head the Activities Committee. A group of young men and women, with the help of the married couples, who plan out activities to bring the ward closer together and to provide opportunities to meet other people and to try new things.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

I work at a Chevy dealership. When people buy a car made buy Chevrolet, we give them an owner's manual from Chevrolet to help them to take care of their car. It tells them how and when to perform maintenance, how to help it run better, what kinds of fluids to put in, what not to do, etc. Different fuel types are needed for different cars, there are many different oils and fluids to use, which one is the best one? Our bodies were designed and created by God. He's given us the owner's manual for our bodies. What we need to do, and what we shouldn't do, with them. What we should and shouldn't put into them. If we do this, we'll live longer and healthier lives. God has commanded that we don't put things into our bodies that cause harm. Chevy has suggested to use certain fluids to keep the car running forever. This metaphor has helped me understand and teach the importance of following God's commandments. Even if I can't immediately see the effects of consuming, I can definitely see it in others. Show more Show less
