Hi I'm Penny

I grew up in Hawaii but I now live in Colorado. I work with kindergarteners. I like to garden, cook and eat. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother of 5, and Tutu of 6 grandchildren. I love being a Grandma! I've lived in Colorado for 23 years and I'm still not used to the snow and cold. I enjoy working with young children both at church and at school. I enjoy cooking Hawaiian and Asian foods but I enjoy eating more! I've had a garden for at least 20 years. When the spinach was recalled from California a few years ago, we were safely enjoying spinach from our garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8 years old by my father but I really didn't have an understanding of the church. It wasn't until I was 15 and had to go to Seminary (early morning scripture study classes) that gained a testimony. I didn't want to get up early to study the Book of Mormon unless it was true so I tested the scripture in Moroni (Moroni chapter 10 verses 3-5) which challenges each of us to find out if it is true. I read the Book of Mormon and I said to Heavenly Father "You wouldn't let me do something or join something that wasn't right and it was either Your true church or something man made." A strong warm feeling came to me telling me that the Book of Mormon IS true and therefore Joseph Smith WAS a Prophet and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church here on earth.

How I live my faith

I try to be honest with everyone and in everything that I do. I enjoy life and I'm thankful for simple things. I appreciate different people and different cultures. I love life! At church I work with the 2 and 3 year olds in the nursery. The children teach me so much because of their innocence, trust and faith.
