Hi I'm Janet

I am a born and raised Arkansas girl who married a boy from Spokane Washington. I am a college graduate and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly wed wife who graduated from Brigham Young University -Idaho with a bachelors in Communication and minor in graphic design. I love to play tennis, cook new recipes, exercise, make memories with friends and family, and design prints! I hope to become a part of an advertising agency and be the creative director some day

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household that allowed me to have my own guided agency. My parents didn't let me do whatever I want but they helped me to see both sides of a decision. This was the way that they allowed for me to chose for myself in the decision of joining the church. Usually most LDS raised children at the age of 8 are baptized almost immediately after their birthday. I was not baptized until 4 moths after my 8 year old birthday because I wanted to for sure that all that I had been taught was true and that I indeed wanted to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I distinctly remember thinking very hard about whether the church was true and whether I truly believed in Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost. I wanted to know for a fact that I believed that Joseph Smith was a former Prophet that restore this gospel for the earth today. But I also wanted to be sure that being a Latter day Saint was a commitment I was willing to make. I know now that taking that extra time to know all of that information for myself has helped me through my entire life in standing up for what I believe in, knowing where I come from, and being able to consistently live the gospel righteously. I know that I would be a totally different person had I not had the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in my life to guide me for the better and I am completely happy with being this person rather than the person without the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be kind and gracious to all those around me. I live my faith by keeping the commandments and being the best person I can be. I know that the commandments, rules and recommendations that the church gives us are all for our safety and betterment. I participate in many church activities and go to church every Sunday so that I may not fall away and be reminded of the things I should do to be a better person. I recognize there is always room for improvement and try very hard to do my best.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Janet
We can know of our Father in Heaven by first believing in Him & his power. We must then study the scriptures, pray to him daily and when you need his assistance, obey the commandments, make righteous decisions within your life, attend church and listen to the testimonies of others love and knowledge of him, attend the church's semi annual General Conference where his Prophet and apostles and many church leaders speak of Him and His amazing ways. By doing these things a relationship will be built if you believe in Him and all the things you do to come to know him. Show more Show less
