Hi I'm Dixie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Mesa Arizona. My parents joined the church in Alabama and then moved to Arizona. I was the youngest in the family. I had 7 brothers and 7 sisters. I loved taking part in my school activities. I played the french horn in our school band, was in chorus and performed in different plays. I played church and city sports and loved the excitement. I met the man of dreams. We were married for 52 wonderful years. As a result we had 5 children, 30 grandkids and so far I am a great-grandma to 11. After the passing of my husband, I served a mission for 18 months in Sydney-New Castle Australia. I fell in love with the people and missionary work. I love sitting and watching a good football game. I especially love watching my grandchildren perform in various activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. I was taught to pray and love Heavenly Father. I knew that he would direct me in my life. I turned to him many time throughout my life. Raising 5 children I was always turning to the Lord for guidance. When I became widowed I turned to the Lord for comfort. While serving a mission in Australia I turned to him for inspiration and protection. Through all my years of trials, joys and everyday living I am so thankful I have this communication with the Lord.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in the church. I was a den mother and worked in the scouting programs for years. I served as president of our women's organization as well as president of our youth young women's program. I served for years over women and young women sports programs. I am currently working in the Temple and enjoying a renewed love of geneology. I have enjoyed years of being a visiting teacher and forming lasting friendships with the women I have visited. I look forward to many more years of service in the church. I love our country and have always honored those who sacrafice for our freedoms. I assisted for years in various positions during election times.
