Hi I'm Lyssa

I love to sing, perform, and laugh! I'm half Maori (New Zealand culture) and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Lyssa, and I love to perform and sing. Its a passion in my life and I was in choir, theater, and musicals all throughout high school. Now that I am in college, I miss performing and music a lot, but I have found another passion in my life which is language and culture. I am half-Maori and half-Caucasian, and I love both of my heritages they are rich and deep, and guide me through much of my life. This love for differences and cultural heritage has made me want to pursue a career in Foreign Services. Besides that I love to laugh (loudly and all the time) being with my family, and eating all the chocolate I can get!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I have been raised in the Mormon church, I have had to discover for myself if this is truly what I believe. And I can give a full-heart shout of, "YES!" I have come to know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ and that He has restored to this day because of our dire need for His light. The doctrines of the church make sense and resonate within my very soul, I can feel the pure love of God as I live the way that the scriptures and latter-day Prophets have counseled us to. My testimony of the Savior and His divine Atonement are what will let us live eternally in the arms of His love.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday, in how I dress, talk to others, and especially how I serve my fellow Brothers and Sisters. I am part of the Service Committee in my ward, and I help plan activities that our church congregation can do for our community. Besides this I also have the wonderful opportunity to meet with a few ladies in the ward and visit with them and give a spiritual thought or discussion. This is one of the biggest blessings in my life as it teaches me to care for my fellow men as I care for myself!
