Hi I'm Laura

I served a full-time mission to France. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy scrapbooking, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I studied the humanities at college and earned a master's degree. I enjoy reading (especially history and the classics), speaking French, road trips, and I am interested in photography. I have lived in several different U.S. states and have visited a (very) little in Europe. I enjoy studying the gospel and am learning about and enjoying family history. I am a stay-at-home mom of several children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I set aside time every day to study the gospel, and it has helped me to be closer to Heavenly Father. When I read the scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price), I receive guidance and direction from Him to help me with the specific challenges, situations, and responsibilities that I will face in that particular day. I know that there is a prophet on the earth today who serves as God's mouthpiece to help guide and strengthen me so that I can make correct choices in my life. I also know that when I pray, Heavenly Father hears my prayers and I can recognize His answers to my prayers. He always answers them.

How I live my faith

I participate in visiting teaching. In visiting teaching, I have the responsibility to get to know some of the women in our ward (congregation). I do this by sharing gospel messages with them every month, by finding out what I can do to help them with their challenges and problems and then doing it, and by building a friendship with them. I have found this to be very rewarding for both them and me because they often help me as much as I help them. We provide a support group for each other.
